Does a Commercial Property Need an EPC?

Yes! All commercial buildings in construction, or for sale or rent require a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (Non-Domestic EPC or NDEPC) and a Recommendation Report (RR).

Owners of new and existing commercial lettings are required to have an EPC with a rating of E or above. If they do not they will need to carry out sufficient works to improve the rating before 1 April 2023. It will be an offence to continue to let the property without having done so.
